No... chat would move too slowly and if people wanted to communicate more things that they missed in their last message they wouldn't be able to until the context of the message had passed. This also means quick corrections to messages wouldn't be possible.
It would irritate people who want to have fast conversations or are talking to multiple people at once. 8 seconds can become a surprisingly long time when you have to count out and wait for it to pass.
Maybe 1-2 seconds would be a more realistic time gap and probably not noticeable for normal conversations if ever this was implemented. |
