There should be a pop-up OR a notification that shows us if we have messages. Since some people forget to check the inbox. |

Surprisingly I agree XD, there should be a button that says "Follow Forum" and it will send you a notification every time someone replies to it :P |

If you're talking about the private message inbox and unread messages, it already shows that at the top right corner of the page.The number in brackets beside "your messages" shows the amount of unread messages you have. I also agree that notifications by following topics to see new replies to them would be very useful. It might be a bit complicated though. |

Luigi, if you need help with the programming, me or GlitchedPixels are the guy for that, we both have our own custom websites made with HTML and CSS and its not with a template. I'm on the phone so I can't post a link to our website yet tho :/ |

Mike this website is written in PHP because it is a dynamic forum, HTML and CSS are just used for displaying it. The real challenge would be to integrate the notifications module with the existing system which would require editing a lot of the pages and adding more queries to the database. I would probably have to merge some of the queries to optimize it, because too many database queries would make the website lag.HTML and CSS would only come into it when I have to display the notifications to users, and display topics with unread replies in a list, and also all the forms and stuff to active notifications when a user clicks on a button to follow or unfollow a topic. Most of the framework for this is already present on the website in existing stylesheets, and it's quite easy to reapply to other modules. |
