There has been a lot of crappy lag in the pvp enviorment lately. And no i dont have a crappy computer. Here are my reasons for the server to allow 1.8 AND 1.9 in the same server.1: Less laggy. Since there is less stuff in 1.8 it will be better for the server to run both components. And since im a pvp sole person i would think this would be an upgrade for the server. 2: People agreeing to my dumbass self. Shin and a few others have pvped me and its been super laggy with a lot of lag spikes and its not fun. Ohhhh. Remembered something important. If this does become a thing make the pvp code and crap be 1.8 pvp NOT 1.9 pvp. -Sauasgeman PS: Typos and crap 2 oClock in the morning and idc. ALLNIGHTERS! WOOOO |

*I am not advertising* Mineplex has their server config set up to support 1.8 and 1.9. If you have the server it says 1.8 and 1.9 compatible. Just something to look into. |

Mineplex works using different lobbies - with different chats, different versions, etc. My guess is that when you are logging onto the server, it directs you onto a sub-server that runs the compatible version (1.8/1.9). no single server with the same chat/lobby can run 1.8 and 1.9 at the same time, as in 1.9 there are a lot of features that completely make the game run differently - meaning the two cannot work together. i think there is even 2 or 3 different main servers or Mineplex, European and US timezone, and some other one. |

What you're suggesting would be essentially downgrading to 1.8 but allowing 1.9 clients to join. None of the new 1.9 features will be available and would inconvenience a lot of people who already have 1.9 items and have become used to the 1.9 mechanics. The server will become less popular as people who play in 1.9 will obviously want to use 1.9 features and it would be disappointing if the server didn't support them. Allowing 1.9 clients to join in a 1.8 environment could also affect stability and cause crashes and other issues. The server world has already been updated to 1.9 so downgrading may cause corruption in places where 1.9 blocks and items are already present.Ultimately, there's no point in downgrading because we're going to have to upgrade eventually. |
