ARMZ' IDEA
As it is at the moment, you do not get creative from donating due to various reasons.
I think that if Luigi wants people to be able to get creative, there could be two possible ways:

One: the server could host a variety of automated tournaments and competitions, where you could
after a number of wins be able to gain ranks with creative mode.
*** Chip's full invision of this concept below ***

Second: If you gather enough in-game money or a certain type of items (maybe even vote tokens)
you can get a rank with creative mode on. Only downside to the money suggestion is it might be
easy to gather illegit money.

This would, in my opinion, be great replacements for the current donation system. I suggest
some of this be implemented, and when you donate, you get nothing but a shiny prefix.

Okay, so here's my full invision of idea one:
Every other week, a competition/challenge is created and broadcasted.
Once you have completed this challenge, you are entered into a database which will, at the end of the week, be automatically drawn, sort of like the lottery.
You are allowed to complete this challenge multiple times to enter the competition more and boost your chances of winning, and getting more entries. more entries = better your prize will be for winning.
Here's a thingy to show what i mean, the entry amounts are not set in stone, just examples:

i dont think you understand the concept. there is no judging involved. Judging is where there are faults, because judging on if someone is good enough for something is unfair.
you get through the challenge and you are entered once into a database, which will at random pick a winner on a set date.

Lets say one week, the challenge is to complete a parkour map. complete the map and you are entered into a database to win. complete the map multiple times and you will be entered into the database multiple times. the more you enter, the higher chance you'll be selected..

if that still wasnt clear,
Look at our lottery. you don't see me picking who i want to win it. xD

Usually if there's a competition there are judges choosing winners, but I didn't understand about the judges, sorry about that.

Aouldrain i think you might be going a bit loopy tbh xD
nowhere do i say anything about building. or the build team.
i honestly didn't know it was so hard to understand... am i blind or something?

you do a parkour map (FOR EXAMPLE) and you are entered into a database.
once the challenge week is over, someone is picked from the database to win one of 3 prizes.

I like the idea of people earning the right to have creative, but what of the people that already have other commands like /fly? Would they have to re-earn that, Because you say how people who donate would only get a shiny prefix would that only be the people who donate after this is implemented or every donator on the server?

Obviously people who already have access to other commands will keep their commands. It would not be fair taking them away.

While this competition idea seems great in theory, there are a few things wrong with it. As some of you may or may not know, the current EULA has laid down strict rules in regards to what a server can and cannot grant its players. Servers CANNOT grant perks that give a player a noticeable advantage over other players, including things such creative. Honestly? Luigi has probably let us keep more than perhaps he should. The biggest thing in the EULA is the usage of hard currency (real money) for in game items, and in game currency. While this doesnt use hard currency, it DOES however grant serious advantages over other players. I have a section directly from mojangs site on this matter, that will explain this.

Additionally, the Commercial usage guidelines state that you may sell cosmetic items, except for “capes”, if the item sold does not give a user an unfair gameplay advantage over anyone else on the server. Due to this, you are not allowed to sell the following for hard currency:
[There are many items listed here, but I have skipped to the relevant area,]
A non-cosmetic item or perk:
That is dropped in an area accessible by everyone, whether other players are notified of the drop or not.
As a prize after fighting a boss in an area accessible by everyone, whether other players are notified of the event or not.

As a prize. Creative mode would be a non cosmetic item, granted after winning a competition. Very similar case. And it really couldnt give out much else either. Items...Money....All of those are NON COSMETIC ITEMS to be given out as a prize, thus breaking the EULA. This suggestion is an excellent one, and a well thought out one. And, were it not for microsofts terms, it could be implemented, albeit with no small amount of work on luigi's part. But unfortunately, it is no longer considered legal by mojangs/microsofts standards.

Much as I would love to plus one this suggestion, I must leave a -1.
If anyone would like a more in depth explanation of the EULA, post asking for it, and Ill create one on the General section of the forums.

Edit: for the record, in regards to some of the crap I got for this post, No, im not some huge proponent of the EULA. I rather despise the thing. This post was merely made as a method of explanation.

Loki's right, even though it sucks, we still have to abide by it.
