I really hope that they will start making the server maps be able to download after the yearly reset! Who else agrees? Please can we get a map download for this year after the reset? |

The map is too big, like 20GB, and would take ages to download. Not only that but it would take ages to upload and I don't even have anywhere with enough disk space and bandwidth to host it.Even so, it would be possible to get a server to host it on if people who want to download the map are willing to pay for it. |

Google drive max is 15GB and it includes email storage. Also, how fast I can upload and you can download is usually limited by our internet connections, not the server's. |

Pretty sure you can expand Google's drive storage... |

Yes Savannah, I don't have money to waste on paying for a server to host the file that no one will use because it takes too long to download. Time is another the major reason why it's impractical. In some cases it would probably be quicker to send a disk of it in the mail, although the cost would probably be higher.Asriel MEGAsync would only work well if the file was stored in lots of locations so they can concurrently send the file in pieces, effectively combining bandwidth. Clearly this isn't the case. Also I if I used it to send the file it would be like hosting the server myself with my horrible upload speed. No matter what software you use, it's limited by the lowest speed of either sender or reciever. If the file you were downloading using MEGAsync was hosted on many servers with gigabit uplinks or locations close to you, it would be limited by your download speed though which seems to be 1900000/(22*60*60) = 24MB/s. However if the file was only hosted on one server with a horrible uplink then it would be limited by that, which is why I can't host it because my upload speed is only 0.85Mbps at best. For a 20GB file, at 0.85Mbps, it would take about 53 hours to upload, which is what I initially said, about 3-4 days. (since if I upload to a server in America or Europe it might take longer). If you were going to download the file directly from me, it would still take this amount of time because I can't send the file any faster. Also, I wouldn't be able to send the file to more than one person because my internet bandwidth is limited. Although it would be free, it's very limited and impractical. What is more practical is to get a server with more bandwidth and upload speed to host the file on, upload it once to that server, and then multiple people can download it at a greater speed since it's only limited by their download speed. Usually the download speed of regular users is much better than their upload speed because people usually do a lot more downloading and so ISPs optimise the bandwidth allocation for downloading. In servers it's the opposite, they have a higher upload speed since they do a lot more uploading. |

Gotta side with luigi on this one. Sure some might want the map or even willing to pay. But I mean after all as luigi said it is a waste of money, the downsides by a lot outweigh the benefits. |

Agree with weegee. Although I don't agree with certain methods of making money, he does need to conserve it |

Hopefully eventually it will be downloadable, as I have a vastly empty 1tb wd blue 7200rpm that would be well suited for 20gb easily. |

Or guiness, you can take off your blindfold and actually see that luigi isn't greedy. He made this server for the purpose of bringing people together and to make a new Webbcraft after Tyran's went down. NOT to gain a profit. Yes, he gets a profit, and he deserves to. |

-1Only some people will be able to download the world as Luigi said, and it will take a long time for those of us who actually want to go through the ball ache and do it. Considering Lugi's issues as well, I don't think it should be allowed. |
