I've noticed that there is often disagreement in the staff-team and with the community over what punishment should be given for any individual action and combination of actions. Example: Minoi and Fyre were both banned for three days, even though Fyre broke the same rule and then lied to staff about it.
My suggestion is that the staff-team should create a Google Document and start writing down the punishments they give to various rule-breakers over the course of two-three months, then determine the average punishment for every crime. That way, there will be a readily available resource for how severe punishments should be, and that will prevent blame from being placed on any particular member of staff.
Everyone will be punished fairly and no one will be able to realistically complain about someone getting off easy. |

here is my view on what the chart should look like
grief - 1 day jail per 100 blocks (if under 100, but still large enough to be considered punishable, maybe a 6 hour jail)
hacks - perm ban
being minoi - perm ban
being unethical, rude, and annoying - mute/some jail time
acting like minoi (not knowing when to stop when told to, and not giving a shit about your own actions) - mute/jail
here is a list of punishments in order to be given depending on how many rules were broken, how many times the player has been warned, and how bad the player's actions were
*list
10min mute
30min mute
1hr mute
1hr jail
5hr jail
12hr jail
1d jail
12hr tempban
1d tempban
2d tempban
3d tempban
4d tempban
5d tempban
1w tempban
2w tempban
1mo tempban
perm ban

The punishments are different. It is up to the staff member punishing to decide the punishment. But, let's say 2 people griefed 100 blocks. The first person griefed a wooden shop. The second person went into someone's secret base and destroyed their enchant table, spawners, etc. But they both still broke 100 blocks. See? The first person would recieve a punishment of 36 hour ban and the other person would get a month ban (My opinion) |

Then don't determine the ban based on the number, base it on the value of things destroyed.
Change the units of measure, not the punishment. EXAMPLE: Make 1 enchantment table equal to 100 blocks of dirt. Problem solved.
And I'm suggesting this so that people cannot blame one specific staff member, and a staff member cannot be biased against one specific person. Thus, people will like staff more because they won't feel like staff is bullying them specifically.
Everything you said can be solved using logic.
