Really old forum posts or posts that are 100% resolved should be shown as 'archived' and not allow anyone to bump it up or comment on it (apart from mods). It should still be view-able so people can still see the history/link it as reference/avoid re-posts. If need be, Mods and Admins can reopen old posts if they become relevant again or if it was resolved incorrectly.
This will help to prevent trolls from bumping a post that are years old and help forum members quickly distinguish between active suggestions/complaints and already resolved ones. |
