Guys, i've heard a lot about a reset coming up.
but, i recall when luigi was recently on the server, he said it was a "refresh".
so, i think we all need luigi to clarify this.
if you need an answer, 1+ to get it more attention please.
luigi, if you are reading this, which is it, and can you please explain your definition of said word? thank you very much in advance.

It's pretty much the same, a new world comes, everyone loses their houses and items, some important buildings get copied, donators lose their commands and after a few months the old world get's deleted. |

Reset means the map, spawn, money balance, etc is reset to the starting point.
When luigi said 'refresh' he is meaning that the server will be cleared of all progress and refreshed back to the start. |

Firstly, I never said a reset was coming up, and I never mentioned a 'refresh'.
Since for some reason people get confused with the words, I'll clarify:
Reset: Some devices have an option to "reset to factory default settings", which wipes all the data. A map reset replaces the current map with a new one.
To set a variable is to apply a state to it. Reset, then, means to set another state to the variable, replacing the old one.
Restart: Think of what happens when you restart your computer, or restart an application on your computer. It simply closes then opens it again. This is the same as what happens with the server, in a restart of the server the computer just closes the application then opens it again.
Refresh: Think of what happens when you refresh a webpage. It just reloads the data from the server. In fact refresh and reload are pretty much the same thing when used in this context. Refreshing a webpage means to load the data from the internet into local memory again, just like reloading the server means to load the data from disk back into the the server's memory again. I prefer to use reload because refresh gives the false impression that after it the server becomes 'fresh', when in reality reloading can break the server. |
