I have a couple suggestions:Lava Furnaces On previous servers I’ve hosted, I installed a lava furnace plugin, which allowed for rapid smelting through construction of a special furnace out of obsidian, cobblestone, etc. Smelting large amounts of materials can be a pain sometimes, and this plugin is highly customizable by staff (speed of smelting, etc.), and it could be a perk accessible by a certain rank. Here is the link to the plugin: https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/lavafurnace It hasn’t been updated in quite a few years, but due to the plugin’s simplicity I doubt there will be many (If any) compatibility issues. If this plugin itself doesn’t work anymore, I’m sure there are similar plugins that function just as well. Rank Reform Additionally, I think it would be beneficial to extend the ranks obtainable without the donation requirement, or at least reform the currently existing ranks. Donor ranks deserve abilities beyond those of non-donors, of course. These ranks are typical of almost every server, and should not be eliminated or reduced by any means. However, the current method of promotion (randomly receiving vote tokens every once in a while) does not allow players to demonstrate responsibility or ability in order to move up in the server. For example, I received two vote tokens within my first three days on the server. Perhaps a more diverse rank system, with ranks that can be obtained through spending time on the server, building, contributing to the server community/environment, etc. would be beneficial to encourage players to do more than spend money/hope to obtain random tokens to move up in the ranks of the server community. Considering the already very personal/relational nature of the server community, I doubt noticing virtues in players would be difficult for the already attentive and involved staff members. Just suggestions—I hope these ideas help staff in the further development of the server! I’ve had a fantastic time since I’ve joined, so keep up the good work! :) Thanks! Legios P.S. -1 on the furnace idea, its easy to set up a big stove system.+1 on the Ranks, I felt it was a sad day when u could get member for 2 vote tokens, it was a smack in the face to those who have actually been on the server over a year. Some should be given for time on the server and not obtainable by vote tokens, so those who have been on a long time get a few more benefits like more sethomes or ingame cash bonus. The only thing is that any new free ranks should never out do the payable ranks of vip, donator & architect. |
