Make a poll on the site. What I'm thinking of how it can work is that next to "new Topic" button there can be a new Poll button.Once you click on New Poll it will take you to the page similar too new topic. However, it has you enter the title, description, poll options , choose who can vote (anyone,people with website accounts, people who have member or up) , and a box that you can check that allows banned players to vote. For some more complicated features you can choice if the results should show before or after you vote, A time limit for people can vote (so the vote will close after a set time), A set time before the results will show, and show who voted and what they choose. Making a poll on the site is easy to do just having these features could be hard to do. Also to keep track who can and can't vote you will need to go through the user's "database" and put their ranks on to the server and also keep track of banned players. It is a easy task to do in small numbers but I am not sure how time consuming it might be in large numbers. I think we were in talks of doing this a while ago, there is a poll system on the home page so i would imagine it wouldnt be awfully hard putting it into posts. |

The poll system we used to use wasn't really that much different from a strawpoll though, since anyone could vote even if you weren't logged in. I suppose I could try and edit it so that it does though, and whenever you create a new topic you have the option of adding a poll to it. |
