I think the signs at /warp shop (the ones where you sell diamonds, and etc) should be moved to a completely separate shop with its own warp, probably with the prices revised too. With so much to buy and very little to sell, it really could boost the economy. Maybe it can also be done in a way where shop-owners can only place signs of things they want to buy in that warp (as in non shop-owners can only sell items in that shop to people willing to buy through signs)? This could encourage competition on selling prices, giving people a way to make some good cash without grinding a specific item/voting..

People don't seem to understand this, but economy isn't just everyone having a lot of money. Economy works best when items, services, and currency flows about the community without external interference.

This would prevent players earning profit from their own shops, and just make the AdminShop a monopoly. It would make the signshop and chestshop plugins useless since everyone would go to the AdminShop, and all money would be given to either the serveraccount account or just disappear.

What I meant was to move the already existing AdminShop signs at /warp shop to another place, and make it so actual players can put signs up in the same place but only to buy items. So basically you have a stack of cobblestone that you wanna sell for let's say a dollar? You go to /warp AdminShop and you find another player's sign which is buying from you a stack of cobblestone for a dollar. Another person who might want that stack of cobblestone more badly than the other would try to compete and put 2$. Conveniently enough, if you wanna sell a diamond or some iron ore, you can do so in the same exact shop, either to players or the AdminShop signs that currently exist at /warp shop.

I think the thing with this is that it makes more sense for sellers to be the ones to have to wait to get their items sold. Buyers aren't going to want to put signs up to buy something if they have to wait days or weeks for a seller to come along and sell it to them, which may never happen and then their sign gets left in the shop. One day when it's forgotten about it might be redeemed months later when the player no longer wants or needs those items. They might have already acquired the items from another shop or got it themselves.

Usually when buyers want to buy something, they're willing to pay because they get the items immediately rather than having to spend time acquiring the items themselves. In this buy shop, the prices would theoretically be lower since the buyer would have to wait some time for the items to be delivered.

I can see this being useful for players with nothing else to do going through the item requests and then spending time to complete them in order to earn some extra money, but at that point the price wouldn't really matter and it would only serve to drive prices down even further. Shop owners would also end up losing out on business. Players with items that they want to sell still won't necessarily be able to sell them quickly because there may not be enough demand.

An idea I just had is to actually have this suggestion except to have some artificial demand where each day there's a number of randomised requests for items at some price, which can give players an extra way to earn a bit of money, like randomised jobs.

I understand what you mean, having loads of signs created by people who are not active / don't play anymore is mildly annoying. Also, I did not really take into account the issue of time actually playing a factor in this. However, what you just said about creating artificial demand sounds like a brilliant idea. Since there technically is 0 demand on this server, and relying on players to create demand is not really an Oscars winner. Besides, most servers just plug in a jobs plugin, which becomes insanely broken (op) if not configured correctly. Basically, money becomes easily available in large quantities and everything ends up becoming overpriced. I am hoping that you guys get around to eventually adding custom requests for items. It actually is an original idea (haven't seen it on any other server I've played on frankly speaking), and it does have the potential of bringing some refreshing well needed circulation into the economy.
