Right now, as I see we are forced to have a rendering distance of 12. This is one of the few bad things I see about this server. My laptop isn't that good, so a lower rendering distance would be better for me. Other players even wish to go up to the max rendering distance, but are forced to stay on 12. I had to stop playing mainly for the reason that my laptop kept overheating every 5 minutes I was on, but I fixed that with adding more ram and different CPU power settings. Although this doesn't affect me as much anymore, I still know that some players are put off to the server because of this feature, and I would wish to see it changed. |

I thought that the server view distance was only a maximum setting, if the client has a lower setting than this it should discard excess chunks sent by the server. |

you can lower it, the server has a max render distance of 12 by default. |
