Hello,Apparently I, Eris23, received an X-ray ban, yesterday(8/17/2021) from [Dan] on the MushroomCo server. I play with the sole intent to relax and create, I keep quiet and to myself to enjoy the game- cheating the game makes it not worthwhile, therefore I do not partake in such things. I completely understand obligations as moderators to keep servers fair and honest, however I assure you I am not one to cause trouble-I've been on mc since '11 with no previous concerns or accusations. I'd appreciate your consideration as I'd prefer not to find a new home sever. Thank you |

Hi Eris, I'm Dan, the mod that banned you. As you said, I banned you for a suspected case of x-ray, and I'd like to think that my ban is justified. Now I will admit, it is a very subtle case, but still, as the evidence below implies, it really does look like you have used x-ray to mine some ores.Also, before I get into the photos, the reason you were permanently banned is because of the extreme amount of ores that you had mined. Most x-ray bans are only 1-2 months long, however, you mined 180 diamonds in around 3 weeks, which is quite a large amount, especially for someone that doesn't even sell diamonds at a shop. From what I examined, not all of those 180 diamonds were suspicious, however, your total ores mined was a large amount as well, around 3,500, leading me to believe that you had x-rayed other ores as well.  As you can see in this image, I have outlined a mine where you mined a direct path to a batch of deepslate diamond ore. Sus  In this screenshot you take a sudden turn in your mine which coincidentally leads to diamonds only 3 blocks away. I understand that some people may make turns in their mines due to certain circumstances, however, this does not seem to be one of those circumstances. There did not seem to be anything obstructing your path which would, in turn, lead you to change directions.  This is another screenshot of you randomly turning in a direction towards diamonds. Now I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in that it could just be a coincidence, but the reason it stood out to me was that you had done it before as shown earlier.  Finally, this mine here is the one that I and other staff found to be quite suspicious. You took a right turn in your mine, which could believably be natural, but then after only around 5 blocks in that direction you decided to turn left and mine straight up into a mineshaft? That seemed a bit too 'lucky' to be true. To finish this off, I'd like to say that I hope you can get the ban reduced in the future and no hard feelings, you seem like a nice person. :') I am deeply sorry if I have made a mistake, however, I hope you can at least understand my thinking based on the evidence I have provided as to why I banned you. -Dan |

Hello Dan! Thank you for providing the images, I can see how you came to this conclusion. I never gave a second thought to how my game play may be seen as suspicious, since I play legit and don't cause trouble. Honestly, I feel foolish or embarrassed to admit that an accusation on a game has me finding the need to defend myself, however I shall try to clear my "virtual" persona. 1) Large amounts of ores I own - That is a fact check true. Since I MC to create, I focus on gathering supplies and building-not messing with other players and such. If I'm not building, I'm out mining, as the main supplier for myself and my husband (can we say breadwinner? lol). I take an efficiency and fortune pick every time, therefore I can stock up quick and get back to building. I'm a numbers person so I'll see if this makes it more reasonable (not trying to rude here). With a fortune III, drops are 1.75-3x per diamond- veins are 1-10, say average 4 per vein. I totaled 180 diamonds - say my fortune dropped 2 per block, that would be 90 blocks, with an average vein of 4- On average I struck diamonds 22 times in 3 weeks or 7 strikes a week. I'd say for a typical casual, social, player that could seem high, but not unreasonable for someone who is focused and mines hours at a time. I cannot speak to how many hours I've played to add into the average. a) The other ores - It's actually really neat to find out the number mined! I would imagine that my cobble number is proportional. We use a ton of stone brick and have a full double chest backup-rest goes in the fire. Once again, I fortune pick my ores. 2) "Lucky or suspicious" - I like to think I am lucky. I don't branch mine anymore- it monotonous at best. I basically go to different areas and dig around. If I go too long in one direction, I'll change directions or branch a bit. Strange to say, but I go on a "feel" of which direction to go next. There isn't a rhyme or reason to it really, and it pays off some times. (probably seems incriminating, right?) I prefer to find caves and mine shafts by listening for running water, lava or mobs. I avoid dirt and gravel- as I don't carry a shovel. I have a tendency to go in circles too, as I dig all willy nilly like. On my last excursion I did hit big (maybe I should of hit the casino that night), I found a few veins out open in a cave and one in a wall of a mine and several through random digs. With my fortune I scored over a stack 3) Here is where it gets tricky - Other than my word, I cannot offer much, as we are basing off patterns that fit a profile relative to the player vs mod's perspective, neither is wrong in their thought process. What I say next, may be determined as a "cover up", but this is all I can offer (unless you know some other way -I'm all ears). I mine with torches-as you can see. Always. Because its dark down there. I do "cheat" a bit with my laptop by tilting the screen to be brighter, thus conserve on my torches being placed farther apart. I'm sure you have seen the "miles" of random digs that were not profitable. Also, I have a rule that I always look for double veins of diamonds. Feel free to check each hit, I will mine around the touching blocks to be sure I don't miss the elusive double vein. From my understanding these would be unnecessary with x-ray. Lastly, there are no hard feelings. I understand what all goes into dealing with the public and the responsibilities of being a mod (I was one for many years-on my old "home" server). I found it tiresome and the game lost it's magic by not having to actually "play" as intended (ie god mode), hence why now I stick to servers that are more vanilla. I have the upmost adoration for those who moderate, it is not easy task. I do hope that my actions did not cause a burden on you and the other mods, as it was not my intent. I was excited to find a friendly, mature, stable server to call home for many years to come and hoped that my husband (NoTalkPaul) and myself could continue to contribute to your community. However, I respect your decision and apologize for this grossly long response. Take care |
